Putin isn't crazy, paranoid, nor a madman. He's a ridiculously logical and effective ruler that knows how to bide his time to efficiently shore up power, manipulate the masses, cast doubts, and exploit the weaknesses/conceit of geopolitical foes to push Russia back into a position of being a nation to reckon with.

As an archaeologist (well, my degree is in it and I've done my share of digs when younger), it really gets me when I read things like this:
