I understand your point, but I think that’s a reach. A spelling error on an Iphone is quite different than butchering the name of an author that you’ve been studying for four weeks. I think it just speaks to the teacher’s obvious frustration.

I think if you’re studying a book over the course of several months it’s pretty reasonable to expect the students to spell the authors name correctly.
