A few weeks ago I sat for SEVEN hours waiting for a tow truck just outside of Peekskill, NY on Friday night in a somewhat rural area. (Blown tire, called at 10 pm, truck arrived around 5 AM).

What if the backup is compromised too? I’m no IT pro but I would imagine if one wants to hold a company’s computer systems hostage the bad actor would want to stealthily set up shop across the system and backups too so that once they ask for ransom the victim doesn’t have the option of turning to their backups.
