With teen shows, everyone is 45 and you have to graduate from high school.
Fine, just as long as they don’t fuck.
Foundation the book is closer to Koyannisqatsi combined with an old Cosmos episode or Star Talk interview than the Julius Caesar In Space by way of Cloud Atlas that this seems to present as.
In “The Encyclopedists”, Seldon tells the truth about the Foundation (that the Encyclopedia was just a front), and outlines the prediction of the Fall, and the Plan to shorten the Dark Age.
Ted Lasso is also good. Scratches a different itch.
One of the best shows I’ve seen this year. Strangely underrated.
Mathematical psychologists, not mathematicians.
The vast majority of other countries on Earth have a SINGLE government. Have they all devolved into authoritarianism? Are France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, and Germany authoritarian?
I mean, you can assume that if you want, but there is no evidence to that effect. If he felt really strongly about it, he could have, for example, put it in his will.
That’s certainly one conclusion that could be jumped to.
“There’s a box. Everyone wants the box.”
Yeah, very quippy dialogue. Not very Herbertian.
I did not feel like the trailer spent much time on the byzantine politics. I think it gave us a lot of spectacle (sandworms! explosions! giant spaceships!), a simple good vs evil struggle (Harkonnens BAD, Atreides + Fremen GOOD), lots of Timothée Chalomet, and some snappy dialog (“let’s fight like demons!”/”You look…

Letting a horse carry your ass around predates the Olympics. By which I mean the original Olympics, not the cheesy spectacle of commercialized nationalism that de Coubertin thought up.
It’s like he’s a rich man in a poor man’s shirt!
I gave up on Legion after season 2. What was the debacle?
