Unfortunately, in retrospect, the “turn to batshittery” is already evident in Hyperion. If I recall correctly, the origin story of one of the characters involves basically a fantasy of revenge against a thinly veiled Ayatollah Khomeini.

I’m not sure wide audiences would appreciate the subtlety of the fantasy element, you can go through entire chapters of it and barely feel it’s a fantasy novel.
My first thought was “does that mean anything?”
I suppose America is finally ready for a story about people who WANT the Earth to be enslaved by aliens.
I always pictured Scoresby as much younger than Sam Neill.
But not Broken Earth.
The Tea Act and the Regulating Act were complementary efforts by Parliament to rescue the near bankrupt EIC by bringing it under government control. The EIC got the right to directly ship tea to the colonies, skipping the auction houses, and to export tea from Britain duty-free. That does give it a somewhat unfair…
Then the Crown levied at 3c tax on the tea because, shit, a King’s gotta eat, dude. This is what kicked off the “taxation without representation” thing.
I think that depends on the arrangements between your country and the US.
Yeah, and the tea party had nothing to do with Obama being black.
Washington ... caused the very taxes he was willing to have legions of poor people die in order to protest.
He didn’t say anything JJ Abrams’ Star Trek reboot.
We all know who Patrick Warburton is, thank you very much.
What do you mean, “when he was young”?
Depends on what you call “a lot”. His IMDB lists 40 things, mostly in the last ten years.
“Prolific” in this context means “is in a lot of things”, while “little-seen” means “is in a lot of things that nobody watches. Makes perfect sense.
I’m OK with him saying “fuck”, but why “Batman”?
Also, I got the impression that Quinto was ready to hang up his pointy ears after the next film.
How about a Big Night/Mrs. Maisel crossover? They’re more or less contemporaneous.
Yeah, this is why I can’t watch the new Trek movies. It just doesn’t have that ol’ Star Trek feel when I constantly want to punch Captain Kirk.
