Oh America, what happened to you? Seems like you’ve been taking quite a tumble during the last 15 years. So sad to see your fall from grace plastered all over the headlines. You really are like Lindsey Lohan. I’m afraid of what your rock bottom will look like. Please get help.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put the 1630 ACE in a sled...

America - where every raving lunatic gets a 10 min segment on the news.

It’s nice to see it has changed since I took it. +1 for equality

But why should the challenge matter? This position requires you run an 8:00 mile. Whether that is a cake walk for you, or you almost die doing it, you need to meet that requirement.

which is also silly. either you need to acheive a certain time or you don’t. One of the few things I can see it being based on is position.

You say I don’t understand the amount of extra work it takes? You say I slap the faces of all women who want to earn respect respect? I tell you that I’ve been through that shit, that work, that instant judgement because of my gender. I asked you to re-evaluate your statements and you throw that laughable comment at

I have 15 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Care to rephrase?

If it’s a requirement of employment, then it should be universal, and not based on gender or size. All I’m saying is that if a man has to be able to run an 8:00 mile, then I shouldn’t be able to run a 10:00 and pass.

My apologies.

Thanks for seeing my intention in my original post. I think this article does bring some relevance to my point however. Here we have an example of equality, and we should address related issues when it comes to multiple training standards in other professions.

Ok, but how about for fire, police, life guarding, other divisions of the military?? I know for a fact that there are still two standards in some of these professions. When I say I want equality, I want god damn equality.

Glad to hear it!

lol no straw man here. Glad to hear there is only one standard! I just know in other professions there are two standards. Just checking..

Fantastic. But PLEASE can we have one training standard, instead of one for men and one for women?

It’s more along the lines of “how can you be that stupid?!” It’s like someone trying to walk across an interstate and getting killed by a vehicle. It’s sad yes, but wtf did they expect to happen. People need to realize that guns are not toys. Treat them with the respect you would give to say a table saw.. one wrong

If anything, it’s self defeating rather than being better than someone. I’m going to stick to my original sentiments. If you’re still offended, tough.

I’m sorry I’ve offended you with my comment. I thought I experienced something I saw in a cartoon that I thought may be relevant to other readers’ feelings. My apologies.

This. This is how I know I’m getting old. You know that Simpsons scene where Grandpa tells Homer that he was with “it”, until they changed what “it” was, now what’s “it” looks strange and scary..and it will happen to youuuuuuuu.... yup. That’s where I’m at now...

Exactly. If he doesn’t know how to do laundry or cook, won’t be long till it’s all figured out. It’s not rocket appliance after all.
