Royals have had a pretty rock solid bullpen the last few years, but the starters have had one of the highest starting ERAs in baseball.  Too early to tell this year but the starting rotation has shown signs of improvement, if for nothing else they moved that useless sack of oxygen Hochevar to the pen.  They should've

When I was a reporter I had to cover a story in which a guy was sneaking into his neighbor's garage to molest the dog.  I told my editor in the most deadpan voice I could muster that the prosecutors reduced the charges down to "following too closely".  I thought he was going to choke on his sandwich.

It's not every day that someone references a one-armed pitcher from the early 90s whom I remember primarily from a Boys Life article about him.  I salute you, good sir.  Also, because you're a captain and I'm supposed to salute you.

Also, that fucking jingle is an earworm and the author of which should be burned with the heat of a thousand suns.

The version I saw had KU as Otto.  Seemed more apt.

Rented this from netflix a few years ago; it's very good.  I stumbled on this (I think because I was looking at Laura Morante's filmography after watching Moliere — don't judge) and I just assumed that I had missed it when it came out in theaters because I wasn't paying a lot of attention to movies at the time.  Turns

This. "Maintaining the friendship" is way overrated, in a year you'll both have moved on to other friends anyway so stop being a puss and ask her. And if she says no take it like a man and move on to the next one.  It's part of the fun.

Was there some kind of dirt-bike movie phase Hollywood went through in the early 80s?  I watched a hilariously bad "renaissance re-enactors-but-on-dirtbikes" movie with a very young Ed Harris for a college class once and it just struck me as the type of thing that must have seemed cutting edge at the time.  Like

I'm a vet of the same war and I really couldn't care less about how accurate the movie is or isn't.

Ah, this reminds me of high school.  Just reading that I can almost smell the cheap shitty weed and Surge.

What's this "would've" nonsense?

Don't forget redhead maid who became a whore.  Because she dared to talk insolently about how maybe being a maid is not something she wants to do for the rest of her life, she becomes a whore AND her kid is taken away.  That'll teach you not to appreciate drudgery.

Now that's a § 341 meeting I'd like to attend….

Also, Lopez isn't funny.

That's cute. I remember my freshman year.

HOTBOT motherfuckers!

Yeah I can read news stories about horrible atrocities and it doesn't bother me much, but I can't stand hearing about animal mistreatment.  I have to turn that shit off.  And I was in a war.

I often donate to animal shelters/request donations to animal shelters in lieu of gifts.  My family's pretty cool with it, the in-laws don't understand it.  I figure the animals need it more than me and plus I kind of don't like people.

What ever happened to the Duck Tales Party gimmick poster?

Watched a poorly-done bootleg of that in 2004 in Baghdad.  I was there for a year.  That movie made it seem longer.
