I’ve been driving a hydrogen car for the past 44 months, 40,000 miles. Elizabeth, next time you are in California if you want to drive one and experience refueling it, drop me a line and we’ll work something out. California’s hydrogen is 40% from renewable (non-fossil) sources and some stations dispense 100% renewable

Prius V. That's all that need be said.

I drive a Honda Clarity EV that has 360 mile range and recharges in 5 minutes. How can that be? Because it has no battery. The electric motor gets its juice from the hydrogen fuel cell under the hood. I get the hydrogen at one of the 44 hydrogen stations in California. If fuel was available everywhere, everyone would

350 miles with 5 minutes to recharge would give ICE drivers what they’re used to. Thing is, it’s here! Hydrogen fuel cell evs go from 360 miles (Honda Clarity—what I drive) to 380 miles (Hyundai Nexo SUV) to 402 miles (2021 Toyota Mirai) on a fillup. Refuel in 5 minutes at one of California’s 44 hydrogen stations. The

I think it looks great, and you won’t see another one that color. Your CA plate is attracting alot of attention. I am somewhat of a student of CA license plates, and from yours I can tell that your Leaf is one of the earliest ones to reach these shores in 2011. I’d be curious to know the last 5 of the VIN. I’m going

Having owned (well, leased) two gen 1 leafs and loved them, it’s great to see this one getting so much love from you. Since you’re now hooked on the cheap EV hatch concept, let me suggest you start keeping your eyes peeled for a Chevy Spark EV as your next obsession. Such a hoot to drive and their batteries have held

I used to work at the port helping process Sparks and other Korean cars as they came off the ships. Always liked the Sparks. Most of the kids working there couldn’t drive stick so I got to drive lots of them!

Our first EVs were a 2012 and a 2013 LEAF. The 2012, after 3 years and 30,000 miles, was down to about 50 miles of range. It was leased,  so I turned it in. But had I kept it, it would have qualified for free battery replacement under warranty. You might look into whether or not your 2011 still has the battery
