I could ask you all to write your comments on a postcard and send them to my house and it would work better than kinja, but 🤷♂️
Realistically kinja is so bad at being an archival system that you guys might as well swap to live discord channels embedded w/ forced threading per article and the comment section would work better here.
let’s not go overboard here
I’d complain but I have a strong feeling that instead of fixing it, they’d close all comments and say to use Twitter/Facebook instead.
Should have punished them and made them use kinja.
Paul Logan says hi
Finally, an internet personality that I dislike more than PewDiePie.
The “hey, I’m just here to make money, don’t make any waves alright?” stance is all well and good for a man like Tim Sweeney, a rich westerner of a generally WASP-y appearance, and, you know, a dude.
well those people would be wrong. and they would also probably be straight cis white men.
But the most limited dictionary definition of “political” involves public affairs, so his statements are dumb even in that context. Claiming that somehow public arguments and decisions about what kind of rights people should have isn’t political is not a supportable position, though. I mean, Chick-fil-a, for example,…
My scorching hot take on your answer, is that your either really young or white/American/privileged not to drag you for it it’s the way you were born and not trying to be dismissive on your age it’s just that I thought the exact same way when I was around 17-19 then I grew up migrated (legally)t the us and realized…
It’s simply an objective fact that politics touches basically everything. Even the zones of absence are defined by the political will to leave certain things be. Hell, how can you learn anything about the U.S. structure of limited government without understanding that?
“There are plenty of people who do not see things through this paradigm.”
I’m trans, someone who knows this and uses he/him pronouns for me is making a political choice. Same with someone who uses she/her for me. Everything is political. Yes, litterally everything including whatever petty counterexample you or whoever replies to this comment will bring up. Learn that or stop posting…
The dictionary definition DOES claim politics is inherent to human interaction, that’s kind of the point. Anyone attempting to say otherwise is effectively discounting the relatively important definition of governance and the context that most of the world does not live under kings or dictators who can single-handedly…
it’s always going to baffle me why guns and violence and outright gore are hunky-dory for the wider audience, but implied sex continues to be off-limits.
Mind-numbing tasks for pittance.
Gig workers...sigh.
It’s just too tragic that some people have to rely on this for a full time income. There should definitely be more rights in place for the workers as the mass rejection thing sounds awful.
