I know I’m only aware of what it was because it was always on after Whose Line is it Anyway, and I’d end up catching the first couple of minutes a lot of the time.

I’m pretty sure the 700 club airing indefinitely was a condition of the sale of the chanel to ABC, that’s why it airs in the middle of the night.

that’s a good point. Just because she CAN walk in heels with a cane doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. It’s better than heels with no cane, sure, but it’s almost certainly worse than just wearing flats.

I bet you did! I’m really jealous that you get to go to black tie galas at all, though a broken foot at one is obviously awful.

It’s hilarious to me that walking with a cane is less of a fashion faux pas than not wearing heels.

I had a similar incident after eating several bagels that had been dyed green for st patricks day.

I'll join you over here in the loves popping ingrown hairs corner.

I'm supposed to be paying attention to a training seminar right now, and now everyone in the room knows that I'm not, because I just snort laughed so loud. Thanks a lot >:-|

Well, for one, I’m not going to pee in public. I’m just not. Its gross that we find it acceptable for men to do, but no, I’m not peeing, outdoors, several feet away from my 100% male coworkers. Second, logistically, I'm pretty much guaranteed to pee on myself, especially if that is my first time attempting to pee

I have a golf question for people who golf. Is it normal to not have any restrooms anywhere on the giant golf course? Because I went golfing under duress as a team building thing at work. And had to pee like a racehorse about halfway through because it was 6000 degress outside, so I was drinking a ton just to stay

I can't believe you forgot his long, long fingers

Eh, I knew they weren't great examples. It's just the first thing that came to mind. I have a really hard time thinking of any character who's whiteness is integral to the plot (maybe if you were playing a white supremacist or something?)

I understand Lin Manuel Miranda's intent very well, thanks. I was just wondering how the fact that these were real white people affected the legality of it.

I agree with you. I was't trying to argue for or against what happened, I was just curious as to why it was illegal, because I had thought the law allowed for race-based casting.

That's what I did. It was worth it.

Oh, that actually makes a lot of sense. I mean, within the context of the show, I understand why they wanted to specify, even for the open casting, but I can see why that would run afoul of the exceptions to the law

well, yeah, I'm obviously ignoring some pretty egregious cases of white-washing with the question.

I know that there are tons of castings that play with race and gender. But Hamlet was the closest character I could come up with off the top of my head where race would be defined as a white man

I mean, obviously he can. But Hamlet was the closest thing I could come to off the top of my head where race would be defined, just because princes of Denmark, fictional or otherwise, have, as far as I know, been white.

I thought that theatre was one of the exceptions to typical rules about employment discrimination. Like, they aren't going to force you to audition white men to play othello, or black men to play Hamlet? Does it matter that all the people in Hamilton were real, white people?
