I used to dislike cilantro, and now I like it (love it in certain contexts), but fricking Arugula is GROSS, and I can’t see myself changing my mind. It’s not spicy; it’s just bitter.

YUP. There are some historical conservative views I think aren’t entirely wrong, for some people. Like, the government balancing the budget is a nice concept. HOWEVER, modern conservatives have totally trashed that (or maybe it really was always just a talking point?), and it’s no longer a real part of the

They were saying this in the context of sexual assault. It’s “imagine you have different politics than someone, SO THEY BRING UP YOUR RAPING!”

I hate, hate, hate how much violent shit we had to watch in film classes. We watched, like, two musicals while studying genre film and comedies were optional on our own time movies.

She got the kid.

She got the kid. Not sure if you remember how shocked everyone was when that happened, but it was SHOCKING after what he did to Nicole Kidman.

I kept going to Musk, too. Aggressive marketing as a genius, thing for starlets, etc etc.

I’m here for fun hisotry, but also Jane Russell gifs!

Well, obviously the 9/11 thing isn’t racist; it’s not about race.

Saying the full word comes with a layered history of violence that does make it worse.

I don’t think she’s getting a ton of options as far as roles. Which is a shame, because I think she’s great, but “mom” isn’t a top-shelf acting role (unfortunately) (unless it’s one J Law is playing, then it’s probably a coveted role).

No, it’s NOT anti-racism. It’s saying that the suffering of anti-vaxxers is comparable to being called the “n” word, which erases the entire history of enslavement, violence, rape, murder, and yes, racism of the “n” word.

Quite the opposite; he was being pissy recently because he didn’t get a credit on the new one.

Here to agree. A whole flock of turkeys live in my yard (well, they spend their nights in my yard). They sleep in the trees to avoid being coyote/wolf murdered. They certainly aren’t climbing up every night; they can get a couple hundred yards of admittedly awkward flight.

Ha- yeah, I’m more referring to the fact that people of a certain age were explicitly taught analogies because it was on the SATs. Like, I was seriously DRILLED in them for entire units.

As someone who has slept with men in both camps, I noticed NO difference, beyond appearance. In fact, to be TMI about it, there were more issues in the area you’re discussing with the un-circumcised guy.

This is what we get for taking analogies off the SATs. A generation that feels the need to incorrect-splain things like analogies to people who actually get them.

Whenever she’s been gone for a while, I find myself remembering the more sexist reasons that people hated her, all the way back to “what do you think I do, bake cookies?” and my mom getting upset about “It takes a village to raise a child.” Then she opens her mouth and I remember why I didn’t like her that much,

Now I’m just curious if there are “head of the table” cultural differences between different cultures. Like, it seems like it would automatically seem like a special place, but maybe that’s just my American-ness talking?

Oddly, I’m *less* like that after having a kid of my own. I think I have just seen soooo many baby photos at this point, I’m more critical? The correct way to view babies is via short video- then you get the little cuddly motions and sounds they make.
