If we’re talking full-episode homages, then Amy Shumer’s 12 Angry Men might be up there as one of my favorites. My husband had never seen the original movie, so we watched it, then the episode. He was very impressed with both.

Yup. We teachers are explicitly told that we shouldn’t even be in a room with just one kid without the door open and other people in the hallway. Touching a kid in any way requires special training/certification and is only to be used in specific times when kids might hurt themselves (if they seem like they’re going

Seriously- the race aspect could be completely eliminated and it would *still* be grounds for termination- she stood on a kid. That ALONE is fucked up. All the stuff around it just makes it so, so much worse.

I don’t see how it could possibly construed any other way; thinking, “Oh no [specific race]” appears in the very definition of racism, I think.

SERIOUSLY. Even the Banks parents interviewed Poppins.

...but that makes us pretty purple then, doesn’t it? I have a lot of co-workers that are registered Dem but can’t seem to understand why everyone is so “disrespectful” to police all the time. There’s Dem, and then there’s Dem.

...and don’t forget drugged!

One of the best things about Warren is that his nickname for her is super racist. He’d look super shitty to non-racists every time he said it.

“Even though the constitution specifically sets age minimums and not maximums, and we have no clear indication that age is the problem for any of our presidents, AGE FUCKING MATTERS APPARENTLY!”

“DROP OUT! Because you are clearly president material!”

Yeah, the only ones I like on the shortlist are Warren and Harris. Maybe someone else will crop up, but I’m thinking a 2-lady ticket might be just what we need right now.

What? The entire top of this thread is those people.

Massachusetts isn’t that “deep blue”-- we have a Republican Gov, and it looks like we’re about to re-elect him, despite the fact that he has a lot of shit he’s had to cover up.

For him, it was a Tuesday.”

I think the “three-year-old” comparison is extremely apt. It’s the response of someone who has never fully understood their consequences before- it’s a fucking tantrum, which includes tears both fake and real (from frustration).

This is the kind of shit they pull. Congresspeople from purple states take turns being the “hero” when they get permission from the leadership, because they know they’ll have the votes without that person.

I know a girl (who probably reads this site and will undoubtedly recognize this story) who, while a passenger in a car with some friends, passed another set of similarly-aged people on the highway. Among the passengers in the other car was a hot guy. Girl found some paper and held up a flirty sign. He found some paper

I was about to say that- if he was able to go through all of that and keep a sense of humor, then he’s better than...well, all the guys I met before I met my husband.

I rendered myself more or less invisible in high school (it was a devastating superpower), but I remember hearing other girls mocked for their looks- I remember distinctly one girl was described (by a guy who considered himself a friend to the ladies) as was “fuckable if she had a paper bag over her head.” Other dudes

<whispers> I never did.
