The smoke detector in my house was built into the ceilings. To remove them, I will need to hire an electrician. I can’t remove the batteries because it will beep incessantly until a new battery is replaced.

I can’t say for sure, but I think for most here, it’s the ultra sensitive alarms going off unnecessarily that’s the issue. Of course if you are actually burning something, you expect the alarm to sound.
