Yep, point taken. Although, for me at least, I was expecting less violence from the Ray Rice video and more vivid injuries from these pictures. Not that these aren’t awful, I was just thinking way worse. It didn’t have that same gut punch feeling (no pun intended) that the Rice video did.

No chance. Nothing new came from this. Fantastic reporting, to be sure, but nothing that explosive that we didn’t already know.
“some time and effort if they’d thought about this for even a minute when they were younger, rather than now, when it’s a decade too late.”

So, to be clear, you think the New Jersey pension system was fine and dandy until Christie came out of nowhere and decided to stop funding it? Is that what you think is going on? You think he was the cause for the exploding pension obligations of the state that were put in place before he was even in office? The last…
There are multiple reasons Social Security is a mess, and that is certainly one of them.
What? What do treasury bonds have to do with Social Security? The SS fund might own treasury bonds, but that has nothing to do with the level of funding.
Ummmmmmm he’s right though. Social Security is a mess. Further, underfunded pensions generally have nothing to do with a governor, they are related to poor investment decisions and an unreasonable assumed rate of return, neither of which a governor decides.
In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
