I clarified my statement in another post, but I meant: I don't trust Chinese companies. Yes, I trust a Chinese factory to properly execute a schematic given to them by a western, vetted company.

You're absolutely right. Cars that look like expensive cars sell like hot cakes in China because Chinese culture is all about "face," that is, saving face, keeping up appearances, projecting the right image.

If it's anything like my old Chinese moped, it'll collapse from rust after just one year, unexpectedly die while riding in the rain, refusing to acknowledge the existence of a second gear by jumping back to first as well as disassembling itself by detaching every single bolt and screw through vibration. Also,

I mean, you're right. Obviously these knock-offs work in their market, or else they wouldn't build them and people wouldn't be buying them.

not superior, but a knock off is always less complicated. I'll take a mitsubishi engine over a land rover one every day.

"I cannot imagine Chinese officials will be happy at any actions that undermine the credibility of the country."

It's a cheap copy - they probably use fives.

this is an atrocious and blatant ripoff, how absurd! have they no shame?!

Truth be told, it's impressive work.

True, although I suspect the snowmobile would do a lot better on steep slopes and/or deep powder. And they also have no trouble crossing open water, so long as you keep the speed up! Certainly these are both better than a screw-propelled tractor.

Fuck YEAH FIAT PANDA!!!

True - in the spirit of this list which appears to be more "most interesting" snow-going vehicles. But seriously, how is a snowmobile NOT on the list??

No CATCO?

ZAZ 968, slightly modified.

I'd get stuck, freeze to death, and die wearing a grin

F-35

Top Gear's Scandinavian outfitted Hilux was pretty badass. That'd be my pick.
