Look on the bright side people! Those of us that hoard used cars are about to see a rise in value :)

Even in the great depression (undeniably an extreme case) MOST people had jobs. Right now, even more people have jobs. So for MOST people, $20k is still more than $15k.
Ah, a trickle-down believer. It’s been tried for over three decades now. If it worked, it would be great, but it doesn’t. The wealthy hoard their wealth instead of passing it down to employees. I agree, if they did pass it along, it would work great, but it doesn’t, and that’s not my opinion, but fact.
“Yeah, 5,000 sounds good, let’s use that.”
I’ve heard both 35% and 45% mentioned in this discussion. The 45% may be specific to tech made in china.
And thus we see the flaw in his tarrif plan. This adds 5K but his argument is they should build the cars here which wil lcost FAR mroe than 5K estra per vehicle. As always, no thought was put into his plan
$15000 times 135% (Trump’s proposed tariff) is $20,000. I’m not a senior economist, though, so maybe take a stab with your own calculator.
Not sure about you, but my healthcare was already going up 10, 15, 20% every year before Obamacare was a twinkle in someone’s eye. Getting rid of Obamacare is going to do absolutely jack squat to stop the rise in healthcare costs.
I think they just used the 35 percent tariff Trump threatened to impose.
I’m going to laugh my ass off when these new tariffs cause US automakers to have to lay off a bunch of workers to afford paying them. And I can do so, because those workers are the same ones that put Trump in the (soon-to-be) Gold House.
That’s the point. Why would the members of the house and senate bite the hand that feeds them for Donald J. Trump? To turn his blatherings into reality? Why would the congress suddenly after thirty years change their behavior for Trump?
“Let’s make everything in the USA”
So? Do you think the republican party, whose members are heavily funded by multinational companies, would hurt the hands that feed them?
Yup. He’s already talking about taxing SS distributions. Aren’t poorer, uneducated white males, kind of the ones who need to rely on SS when they retire?
Trump mostly talked his ass off until now.
Higher labor costs make stuff cost more. 1+1=2.
