Yes it appears that Mr. Sava hasn't quite grasped the meaning of the word 'misogyny' (a common trend on the Internet, especially in places like Tumblr and Twitter and AV Club reviews).

"I need to take an incredibly difficult shot from long range against a moving target, and missing might not only doom us to a life under a crazed Supergirl doppelganger, but could kill my sister! So I'll bring a sub-machine gun with a short barrel, because that's how sniping works…"

The "Top of the morning, ma'am!" gag had me laughing. It's nice when even the characters on the show can acknowledge the absurdity of their situation.

A C? Really?

"More importantly, the season takes aim at a clear satirical target—a self-righteous contingency of straight, white dudes who bully political correctness for bro-points instead of promoting true social justice…"

Ha! Literal toxic masculinity, in pill form. I can buy that. :-D

"He’s a great metaphor for institutionalized toxic masculinity via the military, but him taking a red pill has extra significance in a world where The Red Pill is the name of an online community dedicated to “discussion of sexual strategy in a culture increasingly lacking a positive identity for men.”

The two reasons why this show works are:
