I was somewhat surprised to see that some form of moisture began pooling near to the edges of my eyes when Ahsoka showed up to fight the Inquisitors. Can't imagine what it was. Are these what lesser manly men call 'tears'? I am unsure. Either way, later I lifted some weights and played a guitar solo whilst hunting a

I think "fridging" needs to be consigned to the same level of hell as other imaginary terms like "manspreading" and "the patriachy".

"hough the CGI occasionally looks a bit like a video game"

" (and a much needed woman of color in this cast)"

"Let’s talk about feminism!"

"Torture porn"?

"With its first female-led project, Agent Carter, Marvel Studios directly tackled misogyny in the workplace post-World War II, and Jessica Jones has a similar focus on gender dynamics and detailing the struggle of women in a patriarchal society. "

This episode was fantastic just because it added a third dimension to Cat Grant. She became a fully realised character tonight, and that's really good. I hope that continues to grow (obviously not in next week's ep as we're going back in time, kinda).

"“Always” bounces randomly among tonal, thematic and narrative beats: one minute, it’s a broad argument about Kanan’s teaching skills, then it’s a horror-piece that resembles something out of Dead Space, and then it’s a regular action set-piece with forced comedy and some odd, feel-good speeches out of a 80s sitcom."

Yikes… it's started already:

"the show is still committed to killing at least one black male character per season"

"the entire organization is suspiciously stocked with almost exclusively white human men"

"he’s a good villain (especially when she’s putting Bob in charge of Holt), but she’s also one that can suffer from a case of diminishing returns;"

"Homeland is racist" is an important issue?

Gamedropping huh?

I can't wait for the day when the colour of a character's skin isn't something we "can't wait for" and instead we look to the quality of the stories, characters, writing, directing and acting on whether something is good or not, rather than whether it ticks off arbitrary diversity boxes.

Two sentences into the review and we're already using the phrase "straight white male". It'd be nice if we could focus less on what someone is vs who they are, as the latter is infinitely more important than the former.

"practical non-entities, Scully and Hitchcock"

"THERE BETTER BE A DAMN RUSSIAN MAFIA COMPOUND ON THAT ISLAND, IS ALL I’M GOING TO SAY!"
