Resale value on the Tacoma is and has been very good - like one of the top 5 vehicles for resale for years now. The S10 and previous Colorado never seemed to hold their value like a Silverado but that’s changed with the new one. Surprisingly (to me anyway) the Ridgeline has the same resale value by % as the full-size

Visit the Santa Fe national forest sometime. The trails here see plenty of Land Cruisers and LXs. Several people in town have heavily modified GXs as well. I saw one coming out of the woods today with a lift and a snorkel covered in mud.

I had a Ford back in the 90’s that would set the volume back to 5/10 if it was above that when it turned off.  I never imagined I’d end up missing that feature later.

My ‘14 Forester has to be one of the last. It has power windows and locks but no touch or color screen and manual climate dials. It does have Bluetooth hiding in there but if you didn’t look for it you’d never know. They did add a small (like 3”) color non-touch screen above the radio in ‘15 to hold the backup

Try a Britax.  Yeah they’re like $300 but their quick-release LATCH connectors have basically solved the latter problem.

I feel like this is more of a symptom of most people using cheap and/or poorly-designed car seats rather than an inherent problem with modern car seats or LATCH. I’ve had a variety of $100-ish Chicco and Graco car seats that I’ve had to climb into and put all my weight on to get set properly and then took just as

Leather steering wrapped wheel and shift knob are a requirement for me but a so easy to change out that I might not move up a trim. I bought my current DD in a lower trim without them as it was the only way to get the manual. The plastic steering wheel and shift knob were truly awful. First thing I did was add them

You would not believe the amount of people that name their dog Deogee. My dad was a veterinarian and there were at least a dozen Deogees in the computer system at his small practice.

I used to have a ‘93 manual transmission ES300. I still lust after those.  Does that count?

Creeping around the sides actually has a point. It looks rediculous in photos but in person it makes the front overhang look less massive. That makes it less obviously a transverse engine FWD car when you seee it on the road. This new Avalon is gorgeous in person and probably my favorite FWD sedan design on sale

This. The GTI is quicker than it’s rated hp indicates. Back when it was at 210 and the FoST at 252, I test drove both and the VW felt like the more powerful car.

I have an XR at home and an 8 at work and I’m already starting to swipe up on the screen of 8 and staring at it for a second wondering why it won’t go home before remembering it has a button.

It definitely helps things to be a repeat customer no matter what make of vehicle. But some dealers still don’t seem to realize that the best way to make repeat customers is to not be a pain to new customers.

The feeling that I’m getting from the replies is that while Subaru seems to have more honest dealers than some other brands, they are still ultimately independent dealers and there are sleazy ones out there trying all of the old tricks.

Similar for me.  Test drove a Golf wagon.  Everything fell apart when it came time to try to actually get the price they were advertising.

I bought a new Subaru a few years ago without getting jerked around by anyone at any point in the process.  It was bizarre.

I just saw one of these for the first time in person yesterday and it looked amazing.  Fit and finish really was first rate.

Ban front license plates.

Does everyone here really forget the 3rd geration (GMT201 platform) GM minivans? Thesewere sold as recently as 2009 and I’m surprised I didn’t see them mentioned near the top of the comments.
