It’s even worse than that. We’re not going to even let them in to do our roofing and fruit-picking. I guess we’re going to watch them try and walk to the US, at least a few will likely die in the attempt, get here and then apply for asylum.

1500, thats quite a lot of people, working together, pulling for eachother. I applaud them.

You know who wouldn’t be able to pass through another country on foot on their long, arduous walk to our border? Basically any non-brown asylum-seeker. So odd the way that works out...

Being in Mexico without paperwork is a criminal offense and could lead to prison.

Agreed. The fact that we have a system to let people illegally pay taxes shows how complicit the government has been against the wishes of the populace. There should be ridiculous fine against companies hiring undocumented people.

Oh wait, they can’t live in a country without applying for citizenship? What’s to stop them from going anyway?

Um, no. Anchor babies are precisely how the bad guys know they can get in and stay in. Cut out that cancer by making it clear that chaining yourself won’t help you all, and watch it slow to a crawl. Those kids, being US citizens, are welcome to stay/go back and forth/hang out at your house, but Dad needs to stay the

Until we make the companies who encourage people coming here illegally pay for hiring them we will never fix this. The fact the that we never even talk about this is the biggest problem. If you get caught selling alcohol to a miner you get find personally and your company gets hit with a fin that actually has some

The father, and people like him, are not victims.

I have sympathy for the kids as individuals, but I have absolutely no sympathy for the overall situation of “how dare we deport a domestic abuser who broke his word, look at his cute kids.” It’s not a sympathetic story. It’s sad, but it’s not sympathetic, like when a drunk driver wraps themselves around a tree.

None of those kids would be U.S. citizens, and this problem would not exist, had this guy kept his word on his “voluntary return.” He’s a liar, not to mention a domestic abuser. I have no sympathy at all for this situation.

It sucks, but this is what happens when you coddle criminals. If they had tossed his ass back across the border back in 2003 he would not have fathered those children and would not have been arrested in this country for the other crimes.

This seems like great marketing to get people not to come here illegally. ICE should run this story as an ad on newspapers and tv in Central America. Additionally, Mexico seems like the easy choice given that growing up fatherless seems not so great (unless his DV charges are against his kids).

DUI? Violent criminal? Already had more than a decade to arrange his affairs and leave?

Send the kids back to be with their father. What’s the problem here?

Right... because it is impossible for people who break the law entering a country to be bad people.

ITS YOU!!!

Latino?

What about the millions in line, who are doing it the right way through naturalization? While she may not have had a choice, her parent(s) choose to commit break the law. We do not just wave laws because it puts the country in a morally ambiguous position among some of the citizens. Its like a parent breaking into a
