And I’m sure Roy Moore didn’t assault EVERY 14-year-old girl he met. Not helpful.

Also, anyone who refuses to label a two-year romantic relationship as anything other than friendship is not going to be worth the effort.
I hope you finished the margarita and fajita. A tax on racism, if you will.
hi!
Ok, so let me get all of y’alls advice on a work situation. I work with a woman who is neuro-atypical (Aspergers I think?) And I try really hard to keep that in mind. But- she is a very gung ho Trumpette and keeps trying to engage me in political convos. I have said, over and over again”I DO NOT TALK POLITICS OR…
I wish I’d gotten all of this advice when I was 23 and a co-worker was feeding me stories about his “terrible wife” who had “serious issues” and maybe he and I could go to lunch, just the two of us, to talk more about our feelings? Also, he was 30 at the time and now I understand he totally knew what he was doing. He…
I think he’s also downplaying the seriousness/commitment level of his current relationship to LW1, either to keep his options open or to give LW1 a false sense of hope/keep her hooked just because he can and he likes the attention. Either way he sounds like a piece of work and so not worth the time.
Unless you feel like being this squirrel’s secret nut stash, forget about him.
LW1, you have one problem and one situation that isn’t your problem.
Regular Jane replies:
That’s the exact thing I thought when I read LW1 - this is someone who is very inexperienced who is caught up in the drama of someone else’s relationship. And I certainly understand that can put some excitement into what may seem like an otherwise boring life, while at the same time feel comparatively safe - I have…
I think that’s a very real possibility. It’s a common enough tactic when someone’s either trying to prime another person to be okay with an affair or when they enjoy having someone listen to them and flatter them.

And? He could be lying about the other girl’s behavior in order to keep the work girl on his hook.
I definitely started chanting “Dan-i-ca! Dan-i-ca!” (like Attica! Attica!) when she won — 2% because it meant Virginia campaign ads would stop airing on my Maryland TV, and 98% because yaaaaassssss girl yaass! Loved seeing her much-deserved victory.
My husband has been absolutely obsessed with her. He, much like me, rarely is fully on board with any one politician. However, because she is such a class act and a metalhead, he’s pretty sure she’s his new hero.
I gotta say, I am so thankful she’s been in the news. Growing up, I had 0 female political role models. So,…
Wow, it’s like a refreshing punch to the face (those exist, right?) to see a public figure (a politician at that) with so much grace. While the other side ran a campaign of hate she grabbed the issues the public cared about by the horns and ran with them.
I mean, what does policy have to do with governance!?
Yaaasss!
Policy! Who knew?
