I agree with approximately zero of this man’s policies. I thought his inflicting Sarah Palin on all of us was one of the worst political blunders of the last fifty years. I vigorously campaigned against him, and would do so still. But now that we have seen the depths of GOP hypocrisy, and the absolute vacuum of

And let’s not forget that 3 of Elliot Rodger’s 6 gunshot victims were men of color. There’s a ton of racism at play over WHICH men get to control the women. This is why white women have a vested interest in working against racism. Give Black Lives Matter some cash, and go to their events.

Elliot Rodger was of Asian heritage himself (and white, cause white dudes gotta white dude) so it’s possible that the overly violent, intimate murders of his roommates and friend were more about his own self-hatred/killing whatever side of him that his roommates represented.

While the story of Elliot Rodger will always center around his hatred for women, whenever this story comes up, I always think about his roommates who were Asian men. I mean:

Yes, I thought the omission of race stood out as a problem in this (otherwise well-written) article. Glad I wasn’t the only one. The author notably avoids intersectionality by boiling all their rage down to gender disillusionment when overt racism and *white* male entitlement is a HUGE part of Elliot Rodger’s

Elliot Rodger is literally Asian and White.

As a veteran I am proud of my service, but have always gone out of my way to emphasize that I’ve never been to the Middle East, nor been involved in combat (although there were a couple close calls). Crap like this pisses me off.

Huh, by this standard the year I spent drinking in Korea counts as serving in the Gulf War. Trust me, I saw some shit go down! I lost a lot of buddies, I found them in the morning, usually passed out in the hall, but for a couple of hours, I lost them.

They tried this in Georgia a number of years back. Cracked down super hard on undocumented labor. It caused huge swathes of the state’s agricultural sector to crash, and crops were left unharvested en masse.

Canadians may act all nice and apologetic, but never turn your back.

These hosers guys don’t look so tough.

I was raised in a very conservative family and remembered my mom telling me it was a compliment to tell someone from another country when they were speaking English really well. This is when I was around 10 or 11. So years later I’m working in a book store and ringing up a customer who looked Asian. He sounded like he

Yes, because it is a straw man to assume that caring about diversity means at the expense of excellence. It assumes that by seeking diversity, you are overlooking “better” white people when the point is to look further and draw from a larger pool. There is also a countless amount of research that shows that diversity

He didn’t even say “good morning,” he incorrectly said “good afternoon” and was corrected by the clearly unimpressed Rep. Hanabusa.

Later, when Zinke met Congressman John Lewis, he gave the salutation, “What up, my nigga!?”

A fun story that didn’t make it into the article:

Opa told my dad, brother and me that the soldier who had given him a ride back in 1945 not only offered chocolate, but also the best Leberwurst (liverwurst) Opa has ever eaten.

It was so good, Opa said, that when he explored the world as a travel agent, he always kept
