It’s a fairly important distinction. Locals still call it the “Uniroyal factory”. It’s been around for 70 years and for most of those years it made tires. It’s always looked like an Assyrian palace.

It wasn’t an outlet mall “designed to look like” that. The outlet mall moved in many years after the Uniroyal tire factory - the original long-time tenant of the property - closed.

I had the pleasure of serving with Senior Chief Byers back in 2002. A great man and great operator. Bravo Zulu!!!

I still have my McDonnell Douglas stapler...and I’m still designated McD (payroll wise that is)...so I like to think I still work for MD

The Chinese used the fundamentals of Sun Tzu all through the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Which is about 300 years of the Chinese getting its ass kicked by everyone else.

Maybe we need our own A2AD strategy. Develop a mobile launcher for the LRASM and see if the Philippines will let us run them around their country. With a persistent recon force over the South China Sea (perhaps maritime version of the RQ-170 or -180) we’d be in a good position to prevent China from pushing too hard on

They are not trying to occupy them or anything like that. It is actually a defensive strategy calling on their navy and air force to be able to strike and operate to and beyond those island chains.

And while the USN is busy dealing with them, Chinese submarine and bomber forces can get busy dealing with the US carriers. In a shooting war, anything goes.

No doubt.. but assuming no shooting war, they still occupy the area and can de-facto institute their will. Thats the problem.

The new ships are awesome I saw one in Sydney and it was just huge! The submarine contracts are a joke they want to license build Japanese ones in South Australia instead if buying off the shelf. The cost difference is astronomical to say the least!

They have deployed to Iraq and a few other places and have a base in Malaysia. They also take part in Red Flag. I believe the F35 is on the cards but as you know the F35 is a bit of a question mark right now.The training would be an utter killer have you ever been to Oz its just incredibly hot. We have some cool

If you have the crystal ball and know what weapons the US needs for the next thirty years please share. The DoD has to be ready to help whatever ally the US needs to defend and whatever attack might occur on the US.

The fault here lies with the liberal idiots running Europe

I always heard pussycow when I moved to Alaska, and his dealership is the ‘big’ one up here. Now his son is running it after he passed, and it’s just not quite the same.

Tyler, my man, you should probably find yourself an editor.

Yep their procurement track record is flawless:

Tyler, the you have the title as “Marines Corps”. Just a heads up.

I agree with you. I hate opening up a logbook and finding differed anything

Cal Worthington had a dealership in Tacoma, Washington too, near McChord AFB.

Don't let the silly internet collective convince you. DKSA is hardly the garbage pile that people make it out to be.
