I don’t see the fascist part. Heinlein thought about being a veteran as granting franchise. Similar to a country like Switzerland?

Not so ferocious but he was a good mascot.

I know for a fact one of those locations is way old.

The locations are not up to date. I agree locations should be classified except when obviously in port.

Hmm. I think some other airplanes flew over the Spratleys too...

It’s funny that the anti-base protesters in Okinawa like to quote a couple of Americans who have said that fixed bases like Kadena and Futenma are too vulnerable to attack so aren’t worth keeping and have no strategic value. The Chinese airfields in SCS are even more vulnerable but strategically they’ve already won.

Definitely some stuff in Oahu but when I was stationed in Okinawa that place is spirit central! All the war deaths and caves and tombs EVERYWHERE.

My Okinawan wife always says don't make fun of the homeless people talking out loud because we just can't see the other person. She sometimes thinks she sees them and is sensitive to them. She got vibes from a house I was renting near Kaimuki and put salt at the doors and asked them to leave!

Oh you beat me. What’s funny is that USMC is now going back to small vehicles like this and the Mule to fit inside the Osprey.

Hey I was there for that!

The USMC Mighty Mite. Only used for a few peace time years pre-Vietnam. Ironically we are going back to small vehicles like John Deere gators because they’ll fit inside the MV22.

It is actually designed to have the same footprint as the Echo! But the fuselage has been expanded by eliminating the drop tanks and enlarging the stub wings. Still has to fit inside the hangar deck of the L decks. Which is another reason why Marines did not buy the Chinook.

The Marines did have the tandem rotor CH-46 Sea Knight which preceded the Chinook. Boeing Vertol submitted a bid for a modified Chinook but was underbid by a desperate Sikorsky for the heavy lift requirement.

Was going to say that's the stix! Gotta be like 20 miles yeah?

Now playing

amphibious landings are hard! (Note I know these aren’t Royal Marines)

Plus probably 75% of military action figures are of WW2 Germans. Collectors love all the German uniforms.

SS would have the eagle on the sleeve vice chest.

This isn’t that unusual. Sculptor uses someone as a model to make them more realistic.

They should've used the Chewbacca defense!
