Just put a spare in the wayback, thats what i did in my AWD Sienna.
Transit is anice large box, but cant garage, gets bad milage, handles like a building, is loud as shit, and is industrial.
I drive a Sienna AWD with 8 inches of ground clearance. Done class 3 jeep trails in it, and sand, and more. Just put it on 18s from a Magnum.
Uh, ive taken my minivan over a lot more than curbs. Done jeep trails in it. Wheres my Xb scrapes its nose on everything. So, yes, its very useful to be more than 4 inches off the ground.

What i wonder is why complicate things. Why not just make a 5 liter turbo and put it in all cars? Just pick different internals and turbos and cooling systems and programming. Why create logistical problems by making two different engines?

Ive got a Sienna with the seats pulled out and a king size bed where they used to be. Minivans dont need tents, thats why you see so few, and why that things in a showroom instead of a campground.
