Pat Roberts went off on cops the other day, showing a Taser and a Glock and pointing out mistaking one for the other was nuts, saying “We don’t have the best people doing this job!!”

In high school, I had a friend who started a job at McDonalds. He wondered what the big red button next to the grill and fryer was, so he pressed it. It turned out that it was the chemical fire suppression system and powder exploded from the ceiling and coated the kitchen area. He was fired.

On the other hand, he’s a petty-ass bitch so it's probably the kind of thing that drives him crazy.

When Ms. Bigboote was young she used to attend church with her parents. They still both attend regularly (or, at least they did pre-pandemic).

And if it was God’s will that scientists figure out how to make mRNA vaccines, these people are going to have some explaining to do.

Of course, I’m guessing Rowe’s cheap knock-off of Connections will also be incredibly dumbed down.  James Burke challenged his audiences to think.  I highly doubt Rowe would ever want to do that.

This is truly disappointing. One of the saddest things about the times we live in is how easily we find out the politics of people in television, music, and movies that we like. This is like number 6,317 for me.

Regardless of actual fault here, this is why I always cringe when I looks at what the state minimums for liability are.

No, but Rowe gives James Burke full credit in interviews.

So, this is just a shitty version of James Burke’s seminal and brilliant BBC show Connections?

Now playing

Is there a meta episode where Six Degrees is reliant upon the existence of Connections?

2nd Gear.
Hopefully this will be the lesson that gets the morons with MBAs to STFU about the criminally stupid concept of “Just in time” parts management.

I am not even sure it works in theory because it never worked in practice.

Mike Rowe is no James Burke. You want a good show on this concept? Go watch Connections.

Remember when Newt Gingrich wanted to cut funding for PBS because, “Now that we have the Discovery Channel we don't need it?"

Man, I used to love Mike Rowe too. Then some stuff came to light and I considered him human levels of flawed but still a good person overall and the media liked to dogpile on him a bit much.

Travelling to MANY (though not the usual tourist spots) countries already required proof of certain vaccinations. Don’t get the big deal.

So it drew a dick, then got stuck in the mouth of the Suez and there aren’t enough seamen with enough thrust to push it out. And the longer it’s in there, the more screwed we are...

I remember this show being on when I was around eight, and literally the only thing I remember about it was the theme song and the pain look on Claude Akins face when his deputies fucked up all of those cars. The trash that got made in those days was pure 100% uncut amazing.

Came here for this, leaves satisfied (and with the song stuck in my head for the rest of the day).

I do... I’d much rather have a physical copy of a movie I can watch at anytime and know that it won’t suddenly disappear from the line up on Netflix.
