As someone ND and with an uncanny interest in sexology, it’s hard for me to NOT see blatant fetishistic portrayals by the director/developer, so I agree with you that the various things that happen to Quiet, along with her design are very much wank material. It’s pretty common in anime/manga/games, but it’s prevalent

I have always taken issue with the discourse around Quiet which always just sounded to me like slut-shaming.

slut shaming is something done to actual women, not oversexualized female characters made by and for men. criticizing quiet’s design is criticizing the men who made her, not quiet herself

All the news is about goings-on in Nullsec, which most players never visit. What you’d have to worry about is *griefers*, which don’t make headlines, but are the bane of regular players in EVE.

As a gag, every week on my podcast I find someone who was banned on Twitch - usually a random mid-level streamer with a TOS violation, sometimes something else interesting. Just search “twitch ban” and see what comes up.

Filming children, no less.

Way too few people gave a shit about that. It’s not even what got him perma-banned from Twitch.

You wouldn’t believe how many of his sycophants took to the skies to say that no, actually, it was perfectly reasonable for him to film people (including a child if I’m not mistaken) in a public restroom. Totally normal behavior.

At least the Ouya actually happened, though. There’s zero chance of this thing ever existing.

However long it takes... The combo of Ito’s visuals and Colin Stetson’s music gives me goosebumps just from the trailers, seeing it all in motion is overwhelmingly exciting.

People don’t understand that you can praise Saturn for being a neat bit of technology with a collection of solid and fun games while also acknowledging that it was an abject failure outside of Japan.

You managed to miss every point made in this article.

so what you’re saying is that 24 million is so ... small? ... that it’s easy to lose sight of just how big the gaps have gotten? is that it? are you under the impression that 24 million in 2 weeks, being under projected, minimizes .. or is even germane to the point that making 24 million in 2 weeks is such a massive

Please retract your digusting and utterly unfounded accusation that Mike would take money to write positively about a game. What a damn foolish and stupid thing to say.

Kids feels like a documentary which is part of the reason for its disturbing factor. The other is does Telly know he has aids or not, it’s been debated online.

May I also submit “Kids”. That movie haunted me. I was probably 10 years older than the characters in the film, when it came out. It remains disturbing today.

My guy, the game has been in dev for twenty fucking years. This, Everquest, and UnReal World are the oldest actively developed games I know of. It’s been a while since I actively followed DF development, but they’ve always been -very very- open that DF is a game that will ALWAYS be in Dev Hell. It will never be

The absurdity of it is really on show when you compare it to other forms of entertainment.

Not at all surprising that the first NFT game on the store would just be using asset flips for a quick buck, which seems to be the main purpose of NFTs in general. I’ve yet to see a concept for using NFTs that would work and that can’t already be done with your typical account based systems.
