Well that would save me the 50¢, but I would still need to sacrifice $1 in order to fully realize my dream of cheap, invisible money clips :)

Gee I wonder if Toyota's will be getting Sync...

And this is where Apple's marketing has been most successful...

Now that I have seen their ingenious design I shall make my own from a piece of duct tape and two simple refrigerator magnets. I won't be able to reclaim my dollar (easily at least) but I will only have spent about $1.50 to create my money clip.

The magnets used in this device are unlikely to be strong enough to damage the magnetic strip of a debit or credit card. In fact, there are already dozens of not hundreds of different styles of bill folds and wallets that use magnets to stay closed and they work find with credit cards as well.

I am not saying that people should have sympathy for Borders. Borders reacted badly to the rise of the internet and their closings are a result of that. However Borders shouldn't take out their anger on the few customers who still walk into the store.

Niche products can kick ass, if people are willing to pay the premium for them. Porche makes awesome cars, but Ford kills them in terms of yearly sales, revenue and profits. I guess it all depends on what kind of product you want to sell, and how many customers you really want to reach. Generally speaking more

Unfortunately this kind of retribution ends up being focused towards the few loyal customers Borders has left, and not the internet behemoth that is putting them out of business. Not only that, it blatantly reminds your customers that Amazon.com exists so if they get past this sign they are less likely to buy

They should have been focusing on gameplay all along.

He also has more money than he knows what to do with. At this point I doubt Woz is seriously hedging his bets in order to gain another few million from his stock options.

More likley iOS will be the new MacOS :)

Apple is kicking ass, maybe. But OSX is not and this discussion was about OSX specifically. I would go as far to say as growth of MacOSX has been driven almost entirely by strong sales of products like the iPhone which has opened Apple up to new customers.

I would love it if MacOSX hit 50% market share from only "graphics professionals" since by trade I am a graphic designer. If MacOS hit 50% market share I doubt anyone would make excuses such as you mentioned. Apple has been very successful in a lot of different markets.

I'm not saying Google has a monopoly. I am just pointing out that when any company gets large enough and starts sticking their finger in a lot of different yet connected pots and antitrust investigation is inevitable.

Ehh, whatever. Happens to everybody.

Growth when compared to nothing else is meaningless. It is very easy to grow 100% year over year if you were already ridiculously small to begin with. If you had 1% of the PC Market, and next year you had 2% you would have grown 100% in a year, which sounds impressive but in reality it is still only 2% of the market.

I don't think that Woz really cares if the iPad remains top dog. His comment was probably more geared to the fact that when you have one massively dominant product in any sector innovation suffers.

I would be more interested in Fallout games that explored the developments in the North Eastern Untied States (The Commonwealth & The Institute) and China (since they got all of our bombs, just like we got theirs).

This game couldn't hurt the Max Payne IP any more than the Max Payne movie did.

Its really really really great that the gallery format crops off parts of the photos, and yet still denies you the ability to "view larger" so you don't get to see the whole photo no matter what you do. I really really enjoy all these new features of Gizmodo.com!
