I am so looking forward to seeing this. The Tragedy of MacBeth is the first play by Shakespeare I read. Actually, it was read to my by my 10th-grade high-school teacher decades ago. Will be interested in seeing Francis McDormand and a mad Lady MacBeth. May watch it on this MLK holiday.

Right, none of the previous Democratic forerunners supported reparations. As usual, we’ll have to force them to get what we deserve. I think it will happen by setting a precedent in a court case showing how enslavement and Jim Crow impacts us today—how it impacts everyone for better and worse.

Well said. One of my favorite jokes is Bernie Mac joking about stuttering and he does it without slamming anyone. Harvey, Hart, and Chappell can joke about gay life, not-abled lifestyle, colorism, ageism, sex, etc without damning the people they joke about. I expected more from them—guess I shouldn’t have.

Exactly. It’s a sham to avoid taxes. Har! He will regret it when Uncle Sam comes after him.

Really? I got the feeling of “theatrics” but I didn’t detect reluctance. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Looks Mr. West is still stumpin’ for Trump and he’s still hurting from President Obama calling him a jackass. Said he was a talented jackass, but a jackass nonetheless.

Thank you!

I took an early retirement in 2020 and I haven’t looked back. Sold my home, moved cross country, and livin’ my life. I exercise daily and have lost 30 lbs during the pandemic. It’s wonderful what one can accomplish with less stress.

I knew the judge was going to give the McMichaels life without parole when he had that moment of silence. I knew then that no one was getting off lightly.

White trash implies that *all* Black people are trash.

I’ve been called names but never a roach. That, more than all else, is what stood out to me.

Good. Museums, Black or not, are exactly where these statues belong. The losers of war do not get to erect statues and wave flags on the land they loss. You want to remember them, then do it in a museum.

They never see themselves as marrying into a Black family. They see you (lucky you, that is) as marrying into a white family. Therefore, you are the one who needs to adapt, not them.

Color bullying happens in our schools, too, between light- and dark-skin students. We need to seriously address this because bullying is just as harmful coming from us as it is when it comes from them.

You couldn’t pay me enough money to watch anything in this franchise.

The problem, as usual, is that it held against us when we use Black vernacular. It’s not okay for us to speak our language until it’s approved, used, and profited by them. That’s nothing to embrace.

This reminds me of Colin in Black and White (at Netflix). The series looks at transracial adoptions from the child’s perspective. Here’s hoping we hear more of the struggles and loneliness children face when racism, micro-aggressions, and colorism is thrown their way without having parents to help them navigate the

No, the real issue is that his lies have made it harder for Black LGBTQ+ people to be believed when things like this happen to them.

He never should have testified. Not that it would have helped, but once he testified he put the jury in a position to decide if they believed him or not. Until he testified, the burden was on them to believe or not believe the evidence. Bad decision on his part. I think he’ll get time and he’ll probably use this case

I guess I’m the only person who can’t get with Queen Latifa as the Equalizer. I’m gonna give it another try. Here’s hoping I see what y’all are seeing.
