I mean, while you’re correct in that way that the original 1954 Godzilla was meant as an allegory for that, have you seen the Heisei/Showa era Godzilla movies? They dropped that allegory pretty fast in return for “Protector of Earth” and fairly goofy in some aspects (the infamous flying kick for one)

It’s not that complicated.

People worry too much about canonicity.

We're getting both, so why not enjoy both? Godzilla is big enough to have two very different interpretation running at the same time.

Well I was hoping we’d get a spinoff or three during RTD 2.0, but if you’d given me 50 guesses as to what they’d be, I’d guess Torchwood 50 times before I’d guess the Sea Devils.

Being iconic amongst the sort of folks that follow indie artists on IG is one thing, but in terms of the wider audience, Spawn has basically vanished (and was never all that huge to begin with) and that’s going to make getting financing/distribution challenging.

yeah ‘i see the merch at cons and some indie artists draw him’ does not equate to ‘still huge’ in my books.

But it is only Iconic within that fairly small community.

It is hard to believe McFarlane could make Spawn “in a heartbeat” when he has been talking about but not making it for about 10 years now.

im so tired of this all this “meta” twitch bullshit. the people pushing the nudity are so fucking annoying. twitch is vague on some rules because of people like them.

“Bottom text”! Classic!

Dude’s...definitely committed to becoming the IRL version of his Nutty Professor character.

Echo/Daredevil - the speed of hitting Echo’s leg (around 14/15 seconds in) made me think I was watching rehearsal - so many spots where the camera forgets to hide the lack of actual impact before the person being “hit” reacts...

Well...

Mrs Flood being Lady Cassandra is now the only twist reveal I will accept from this season

Pretty refreshing not to have to listen to yet another media coached actor go on some PR dept. prepared rant about what a geek they are and how they’ve always dreamed of playing X role because they love the franchise, etc. etc.

Nah, a season arc is a good thing to have in a monster-of-the-week show. It just needs to not overshadow the individual episodes.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter 2: Cruise Control

A George Lucas prequel where they show the Demeter being built.

i mean yeah. as much as Star Wars fans hate Star War this show was pretty bad. it felt like a jumbled mess that lead to nothing. theres probably a really good version of the show if it was edited different, because it felt like it should have flowed way different than what was presented. anyways, even if theres no
