Torino got the FE 428 standard in the Cobra models. The 427 was sort of available in the earlier Fairlane. In 1964 they had a third party modify 100 Fairlanes to create the Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt. This one is a great base vehicle for an overlander/hunting truck. Neither of those are my thing, but if it were then this ticks a lot of the right boxes.

I’ve always been a convertible fan. I’ve owned a couple myself and ridden and driven many more. The experience of riding in those big American body-on-frame convertibles is something else.

True, but irrelevant. Someone looking to buy a mid-90's Lincoln wants a mid-90's Lincoln. Admittedly that market is small. Someone looking at a late 00's Lincoln is in a completely different market.
