I also had an ‘89 LX 5.0 hatchback purchased new straight out of college. I loved that car. It was a great car in its day, but that day has come and gone. It would be fun to have another, but not $15k worth of fun. Besides, I never really cared for all the plastic cladding on the GT.

I bookmarked that partsouq.com site for the future. Odd that it has VW and Porsche but not Audi and some of the other VAG makes. This one has more of them https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/

Yep. Bimmer for car. Beamer/Beemer for cycle.

Not a car name, but I had a Springer Spaniel named Bud; short for Redbud. I’ll let you guess what redbud means.

I had the same thought. I’m guessing the author has it backwards. The first person asleep gets smacked.

I’m just wondering who the smacker was, since everyone else was asleep before the smackee.

Dampers and dampeners are both correct. My preference is dampers.

This is for getting “work” done while in transit.

I’d bet you anything it was competing against Wendy’s. McDonalds has always seen Burger King as an also ran.

If you’re ever in the neighborhood of Tucson, AZ, they have the first of the Super Guppies ever built on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum. https://pimaair.org/
There’s many very cool planes there including an SR-71A.

I worked one back in the 70's with a basement. It’s where they stored all the dry goods and other non-perishables. The break room was down there too. I’ll bet it’s pretty common.

But where would you sit?

I know you’d like to differentiate yourself from other Trump supporters. Sure you may not like some of those activities. I get that you may support some of his policies. But like it or not, supporting Trump is supporting those kinds of atrocities.

Beige was THE color back then, just like silver is now.

Sorry Torch. You’ll get more G-forces on braking than you do on acceleration.

The AC system would likely be an R12 system and likely needs a conversion. I can understand why they wouldn’t touch that. But the rear windows? That’s a puzzler.

I’ve seen a bunch of interesting cars move through that dealer. The one that almost got me to consider buying was a BMW 325i touring (E30).

Wow, I finally had a submitted entry accepted! Now maybe someone can pull me out of the grays.

I have no idea watt you are talking about.

80's BMWs are dead simple. Even the engine electronics are pretty simple. Although I love the old 6er, it’s steering and suspension are still 70's tech.
