I'm so glad all these racists on Twitter and Facebook use their real names. Now I know who to gut punch if I ever run across them IRL.

It just seems so out of place to see the word "Negroes" and not have it be code for a more offensive term. However, a different commenter pointed out to me that you are very frank in your discussions of race and wouldn't be using coded language. Sooo, have a good day???

Got it.

Wait? Did you just say Negroes? Man, the only person who ever got a pass for saying that past the year 1950 is my (deceased) 100 year old Gramma who was born in 1912. And to be frank, she only got a pass on it because we were happy she wasn't using the other n-word.

Thank you for being so much more articulate than I could ever be in a response to this person.

I had to stop watching. The scripting was getting WAY TOO obvious. Like the scene where Abby takes Holly shopping. Or that date Abby went on at the horribly decorated tea-room. Watching the girls dance (my fav part because I always wanted to be a dancer) was not enough to balance out all the over wrought drama.

Responding to you both for clarity....

Responding to you both for clarity....

This was on a syllabus for one of my college courses. We never got around to reading it in class (BOOO) but I did keep it and read it for myself. I thought it was a great book. Good idea including it.

It's a skill learned in kindergarten. Don't call names. Notice I didn't call you any names. I also have now way of knowing if I am "better than you". For all I know you are a physicist.... Now, if you are upset that you are getting piled on for calling someone's mom, sorry parent, an idiot maybe stop doubling

I recognize that you are trying to gently or nicely point out why people may be posting their disgusting comments but there is really no defense for calling (and then continuing to call) someone's mom an idiot. If these people don't agree with OP's comment or would like more clarification about what she said, calling

How about not tell someone their mom is an idiot? Stooping to name calling of someone's mom is seriously foul, but whatareyougonnado, there's all sorts in the world.

So don't be a prostitute.

There is never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever a case of rape where it is the victims fault. Ever. Are we clear on this? Your claim that arousal of a rapist is the fault of the rape victim is bullshit, plain and simple. Many people on here have made many valiant attempts to explain this to you. They have

I haven't even read the whole thread. I didn't even know Berkie was also commenting. I have been working so hard to not be inflammatory and part of me really thought that perhaps if enough rational thought or logic was provided they would "see the light".

Have you read the novels I am writing? I just can't any more. I have spent a huge chunk of my work day trying to come up with concrete, logical examples to show the disconnect in this person's reasoning. I even stopped writing about rape and switched to arson as a crime to try to tone down any inflammatory thought

Okay, bottom line, there is never a situation where it is the fault of the rape victim. I think you are stretching the bounds of reality to say that creating/causing arousal in a male is a contributing factor to rape. Personal responsibility means that you, and you alone, are responsible for your actions. If you

I actually saw a scenario like this one day. A young man was walking with several shopping bags when officers at a subway station entrance approached him and began to question him. They asked him among things "Where are you going?", "Who are you meeting?", "Are these your bags of stuff?", "Can we see what you

While its bit tricky to place blame on the victim or not, seeing that its her drinking, the bad boy dating and her attire choice is the trigger of the whole incident, its better to advice woman to not do all the stuff mention above as a means to avoid raped.

Oh, I definitely agree, I was just addressing the posters opinion that taking away arousal (dressing different, etc.) would would limit the instances of rape. Because they mentioned it several times, I wanted to specifically address that point in the context of a relationship setting. Many times you hear the
