Oh yeah, Brutal Legend. I loved the hell out of Psychonauts, and from the advertising was expecting more mind-bending platformer/puzzle action from Schafer. RTS is quite possibly my least favorite genre of game, but I still played through the thing, and found solace in the non-RTS bits, visuals, and voice acting.

It would be nice if Adam Scott, whom I love, would stop doing projects with actors/actresses/comedians I happen to hate; D'Elia is awful, and Bridget Everett isn't any better.

I love Adam Scott and Jenny Slate as much as I hate Nick Kroll, so this…this is a conundrum.

In a year when there is Venture Brothers, Venture Brothers is the answer.

That is one well-crafted sentence.

I'm officially letting myself look forward to this.

I realized the other day that his ever-present Cosby sweater is a pretty dark detail, now.

I didn't know that, but it makes a LOT of sense.

I love Oryx and Crake, but you're not wrong. One of the unfortunate aspects of Atwood refusing to go full sci-fi is that her world-building can come up short.

Infinite Jest gets better with every read. The first time through there's the pressure of reading something so huge and lauded and notoriously difficult (though I have qualms with that last classification). It's much easier to enjoy without that hanging over your head, and when you have an idea of where the story is

The stone fox from "A Mother's Right: The Elizabeth Morgan Story"?

…yes?

I've been with my fiancee for about seven years. Last fall, we were going through some stuff, and I was pretty sure it was over — every day I expected to come home and find him gone. Shit came to a head, we talked it through and made some changes, and we're doing well. In that time where I was sure it was going to

I don't know if you meant that as a pun, but it's a good one.

I still look up "Old French Whore!" every once in a while.

I was a weird indoor kid (The A.V. Club), so I spent a good amount of one summer watching SNL reruns on E!. It was about a 50/50 chance I'd get an ep from '89-'93 or '94-'97, and I'd watch it regardless but the difference in quality was apparent to a twelve-year-old.

"The domestic violence lurking behind the placid veneer of small-town communities? You can’t put that on a poster!"

I don't think Shaun of the Dead gets enough credit for helping to kickstart the zombie craze. I remember at the time thinking how lucky I was to have gotten 2 zombie movies (along with the Dawn of the Dead remake) in the same year, and 28 Days Later was 2 years before that. Did not expect the full-on cultural

You're so right. After ten-plus years of coming here daily the dissolution of the commenting community saddens me much more than the lack of quality articles, though — as you say — the problems do go hand in hand. I pop into AVCAD and lurk every once in a while, but it isn't the same. This place is responsible for
