I actually appreciated Michael calling out that black people act out of self-interest as well. I personally doubt that a significantly higher percentage of black men were up in arms about Brett Kavanaugh than white men. We all do this. It should be called out.

Also: “I could only think about how nice it must be to ignore discrimination, homophobia and racism until it affects you personally.”

I really like Colton, too.  Listening to him on a couple podcasts he does seem like a fun and thoughtful person.  I think by being too nice and worrying too much about what other people think of him, he might come off as SUPER boring.  But best of luck to him.

I don’t blame him as much as other’s do for the Tia fiasco. I mean, he didn’t try to contact you at all, take the hint.

This is the bias that called the most progressive person from the MASSACHUSETTS delegation to the US congress losing “a win for progressives,” to a person who worked 10+ years under TED KENNEDY, just because the person losing had been in congress for over one term.

That you describe people as ‘dregs’ and snark about ‘virtue signalling’ leaves me with little doubt that you are no progressive liberal. And if words are to have meaning then you can’t just describe yourself as a ‘progressive liberal’ and then act like a punitive and reactionary conservative.

It’s bizarre to me how many people who consider themselves to be progressive liberals are so illiberal when it comes to crime and punishment.

I get it that she might be upset, but in your regular job nobody knows if they are working with a sex offender, and the guy was convicted 8 years ago is he never supposed to work again? Do we believe rehabilitation and second chances or do we just throw someone away for the rest of their life if they ever do something

so, what if it was not him being a sex offender? what if he had been convicted of assault in the past (as have I)? Does a crime on your record mean you don’t have the privilege of being around other adults EVER? I mean, sex offenders in particular have a pretty low standing in society, but would it be different if

ya its overly hyperbolic, that is fair, but there has to be a way for people who have been convicted of crimes and severed their punishment to be integrated back into society.  I dont think that way is have a person announce their criminal history to anyone they encounter in life.

So, I’m seriously the only one who feels like Munn flipped out over nothing? I mean, like Anne states below, there’s legal limits on what employers can consider in hiring decisions, and I know enough people in HR to know that it’s generally completely illegal to actively inform coworkers of somebody’s criminal past

I’m ambivalent about this. If our punishments are not sufficient in allowing someone full entry back into society then we need to change them. If this man had been a repeat offender or done something suspicious then I get it. But her saying because of his past crime, which he’s been punished for, his criminal record

I never had any intention of watching the movie in the first place so this scandal means nothing to me but while I respect Olivia Munn’s position, and the director should have informed the rest of the cast that he was going to cast his friend and that he had a record (and what that record was for), I also respect the

Love that Midweek Madness is back, and that Brad and Jen are pregnant with their 114th child.  Mazel you two.

Or that they pick their kid up at Granny’s house,

They have 3 kids together and she seems like a type of person that wants her kids’ father to be a healthy part of their lives.  She’s never going to quit Ben.

I’m here for it. There can never be enough Wallace or Weevil on my tv. And Mac. And Dick. And LOGAN. And...I’m just here for it all.

Disagree.  Any Veronica Mars with the original cast involved is excellent Veronica Mars and I am all in.

Preach. They owe us nothing, but the sad thing is they have been doing some things and receiving almost zero acknowledgement for it anyway. For example, I’ve seen almost zero coverage in the American press about the Obama foundation holding their first annual meeting for fellows in S. Africa.
