I’m more than a little surprised at how much Anthony’s death is affecting me. I knew I was a huge fan of his, and my wife jokes about my crush on him whenever we watch Parts Unknown, but I’ve been going back to all the news sites, looking for the articles that help me figure out why I’m so sad at my desk.

I feel great sympathy for the families, but those “what if...” questions will do nothing but make you crazy. What if my loved one had a cold that night and stayed home? What if he had been standing somewhere else? What if the security guard had shot the assailant? You can’t rewind time and change the events. No

This whole lawsuit sounds like the victims and their families are money hungry. Yes it was a terrible incident. The security guard / off duty cop was not at his post because he was removing an under aged kid from the club. This is something that club bouncers and security guards do all the time. And as for the

Wait...wait..wait, so the lawsuit is claiming they wanted unspecialised beat police officers to storm a crowded and dark nightclub full of civilians guns blazing in the hopes that in the crossfire they might kill the gunman when said gunman had already claimed to have a suicide vest and explosives...

There’s not much I judge parents on, but failing to vaccinate is absolutely one of them.

How about instead of young people, it’s retired women who share a house in Miami. Maybe let one of the retirees bring their sassy Sicilian mother to spice it up a bit. And instead of a full bar, stock the fridge with cheesecake.

“I have milk with a longer shelf life than that marriage.”

It’s definitely tough. I’m sorry his death is hitting you so hard, and my honest sympathies go out to you! I think you’re right that Bourdain’s best quality was that, even if he failed sometimes, he always tried to be a good person. And that is so, so important in this world.

I know that many aren’t really fans here, but I loved Anthony Bourdain. I read his book many years ago and related to him so deeply. A person that also struggled with drugs and depression. This makes me really sad.

Jill Kargman is my spirit animal! Odd Mom Out is the funniest show in a decade.

the Y is silent

This show was so funny. The birth episode from the 1st season was top-notch.

racing stripes on the side!

Yeah.. not feeling that octopus thing. I’m gonna go with the highlighter muppet.

How are they entitled though? They seem a little weird, and they’re super rich, but they don’t seem entitled. Especially if you look at their creative projects (mostly Willow’s) they seem to be pretty self-aware about their privilege.

In this context it seems like she means she doesn’t like costuming as much as retailing because it’s not a fantasy, it’s a reality. I don’t think she means “the people” like “the majority of American consumers” since she can’t be unaware of the price points of the items she’s selling.

Mine are Obama and John Oliver.

Jim Henson and Fred Rogers are my tipping points. If they’re revealed to be sex predators, we may as well light the world on fire because humanity is simply not worthwhile.

If anything ever comes out against Lin I’m leaving this planet.

Pretty much any famous man who has made consistent displays of empathy and mindfulness through their actions, as opposed to just talking about it.
