this is coming from someone who really does understand mental illness all up-close-and-personal-like: you really don’t know what you’re talking about. this girl understood what she was doing was wrong, but did it anyway because she wanted sympathy from people as the “grieving girlfriend”. she’s a dangerous person who

How could a perceptual be relevant in this case? Aren’t they a failure of the brain to process sensory stimuli - identifying objects you see, alien hands and stuff? Here it seems that she was certainly processing all the relevant stimuli.* She knew what he was doing was harmful to him, she understood the result, and

I’ve been following this case since it hit, and there’s plenty of primary evidence that the deceased wasn’t particularly committed to going through with it, that she pushed him toward doing it, then he went through with it, then she tried to cover up that she’d pushed him to do it.

That very simply means she was aware

Dude, come on. We can never know anything, there are plenty of innocent people in prison and plenty of guilty people walk out off courtrooms free.

Hey psychological problem was that she’s a teenager in 2016 :P

So you have no opinion on any presidential candidate or any person you've never personally met? I’ve never met Trump, yet I’m pretty confident in my opinion of him. It would be literally exhausting to have to meet every public persona in order to form a judgment. You must be exhausted.

Who’s yelling? We’re both just expressing our opinions.

I actually have followed along with the case. She not only researched how he should kill himself, but harangued him into going through with it. Not to mention she started milking the attention as soon as he died. I have no doubt there is something wrong with her mentally, but she’s demonstratably a bad person and

Yup! She knew it was wrong, and continued on her course. She even tried to get the deceased to delete the text thread to cover her tracks.

There was no twitter then... but black folk knew what happened there and never forgot, either. Those fucking people... and it wasn’t just there. It was (is) all over with americans rooting for any foreign white lady against one of the sisters, or both of the sisters when they play double. They get more love out of

Oh, I don’t think she’s going to win. They might float some arguments along these lines just as a way to soften up the sentence. /Shrug/ either way this whole case is a can full of whatthefuck

Please. We ridicule Bill Cosby because he’s a rapist and should be torn down. We mock Donald Trump because he’s an idiot and should be silenced.

Wasn’t arguing that she shouldn’t go to prison. I actually agree with David, for the most part—this has become a clash of semantics, not a disagreement about content.

“How dare this person, who we were paying very generously to care for our young daughter–”

What is there to help? She encouraged someone else to commit suicide. There’s a difference between being a “flawed human being” (which is one of the strangest things I’ve ever heard to defend someone in a situation like this) and actually trying to get someone to kill themselves and then covering up your tracks.

I’ve been an au pair, and the parents’ bedroom was not only off-limits, it’s so obviously off-limits that in one of the two places I worked, it wasn’t even discussed. A child care provider has absolutely zero business being in there unless maybe the kid gets in and you have to go after them, and then it’s in-out.

This is a massive over-share, in my opinion. Why does the world need to know this level of detail about why you fired your nanny? This has a my-husband-is-hot-and-would-never-cheat-on-me-let-me-show-the-world-proof vibe.

“mommy bloggers” are the worst. Maybe I should start my “filled with anxiety, broke, single 30-something woman” blog.

Now at this point in Kyle’s story, the part of me who is the teenager who came of age in Brooklyn started bubbling up– and my hands started itching to take my earrings out and hold them while I got CRAZY.

I think there would be justice in keeping this girl out of the public and in an facility where she can get help. She needs to be kept away from vulnerable people both in-person and online, so she doesn’t do any more harm.
