So when does Stoya start raking in all that sweet, sweet, rape accuser money I keep hearing so much about?
So when does Stoya start raking in all that sweet, sweet, rape accuser money I keep hearing so much about?
ha! came here to express my shock that someone would actually feed their child a diet of only almond milk.. Pretty fucking stupid , neglectful, and obviously dangerous..
Yep! I’m (ethical*) ovo-lacto, and have been for more than half of my life. I know exactly what to do and where to go for nutrition, without even thinking about it.
Hey, now, this person is just delusional. Vegans aren’t exactly an oppressed class, but we get a lot of shit over our dietary choices. And just for the record, I never fucking hear vegans go on and on about their decisions. The people that seem to need to talk about their dietary habits the most are people who eat…
Right. Those first twelve months of development are HUGE, and by depriving your child of vital nutrients during that time, you are really screwing them over. Who knows what kinds of issues the kid will have as it gets older.
That’s what I meant- what they were feeding their kid wasn’t “milk” the way that soy milk is milk. And I still don’t understand why they were feeding the baby cow’s milk at first as opposed to breastmilk. Was she unable to breastfeed for some reason? Is it some kind of cultural/generational thing, like how back in the…
Yeah. One of my BFFs is vegan, as is her now-2-year-old. That little girl is at the top of her weight and height ranges, and has hit all of the developmental milestones. Her parents are SUPER AWARE of everything she eats, down to the micronutrients, because they want to make sure she has good nutrition.
I see. They should have consulted a nutritionist, at the very least, because there has to be something else the kid could be able to have to get the nutrients it needs. I don’t take issue with veganism- it isn’t for me, as I love cheese too much- but some people do have a rampant hatred for them that always catches me…
You need funnier friends.
It’s amazing how many comments could be immediately cleared up by..... reading. Magical! You must be a wizard.
I usually love a good old fashioned ‘storm the castle’ when it comes to idiocy, but I just feel kind of bad for these parents. They are probably reading all about how their child should be taken away from them because they are sociopaths deliberately harming their child, when in reality they likely thought they were…
Oh hush yourself being all “I read the article and links”. People want to hate on people different from tthemselves for a few minutes. Is that too much to ask?
What these parents did was dumb, but they’re not vegan nutcases who were abusing their child. The baby was getting formula and started developing a rash so the doctor recommended they swap to almond based formula. The kid was picky, refused to eat anything else, and here we are.
It isn’t. Most vegans are happy to feed their baby breast milk or formula (usually soy formula) if breast milk is unavailable.
I mean, it sounds unfair and all that, but this woman is paying less than $1,100 per month for a 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT in MANHATTAN. My apologies if her cries of “boohoo no dishwasher” don’t evoke tears of sympathy. I get that it’s the principle behind the poor doors, but come on, did these folks really expect the “same…
A slave who smiles at his child or looks happily at a blue sky is a different thing from “the only thing that put a smile on Hercules’ face was when Lady Washington walked into the kitchen” (approximate quote). The book shows slaves taking pleasure in their masters’ happiness as if that was their purpose in life. It’s…
Comments like these blithely assume that all people consider slavery inuversally terrible, and a deeply shameful part of American history, but this isn’t the reality at all. There are politicians who talk about the good that slavery did for black people and black families (!!!), and George Washington in particular is…
Yeah; I don’t know. I get your point but as a straight woman, I would not have the presumption to compare my situation favorably or unfavorably to that of a gay man. But, likewise, I am not sure that it is for a gay male to claim that his situation is objectively worse than my own.
Please keep in mind that your background and experiences will taint what you see as “the best”. And because the academy is 94% white and 76% men, their views are skewed. Then again, all awards are kind of bullshit, so we shouldn’t care anyways.
