Seriously, that is such a blessing. My mother watches my sister’s kids everyday for free and also does some cleaning and cooking, etc. Childcare costs are insane and that equates to tens of thousands of dollars worth of care each year, not even including the money/time spent on housework. She loves it because she

Let her know she pays about %56 more in taxes on military funding, as oppose to the measly %1 that goes into welfare and other such assistance programs, and see how little she gives a shit.

This makes so much sense. And if people like this are unwilling to recognize informal financial help from their parents as real and actual help—the kind that counts—it’s no wonder that they’re also unwilling to notice and acknowledge informal racism (and other forms of oppression) as real. You know, the kind of

Being a lower middle class white millennial from a town in a county that ranks in the top 50 of wealthiest counties in America and seeing the shit my Facebook “friends” get away with drives me to madness. The jobless 20 something living out of mommy and daddies basement has no idea what a #struggle is.

I truly hope you’ve healed and/or are making progress. I will definitely keep your comments close to my heart when approaching these topics - I didn’t mean to come across as not understanding of the people affected as well. Sorry if I did. I wish the best for you and your family.

I had to go back and read a bit. I think I may have replied to you but had a few thoughts in mind that were elsewhere directed. Most importantly, I didn’t mean to imply that the kids had no reason to distance themselves from her due to abuse. I meant my comment more towards the fathers/other adults that [in my

Did you read the whole article? It’s all basically all “this guy was an unruly criminal from a bad family in a bad neighborhood.”

I usually don’t root for the death of children onscreen

right, what i thought was, mean as it was, uh, you just proved that maybe you need to be away from your kids for a bit. children, adults, too, find it very toxically stressful to be around someone who is “angrily suicidal.” She sounds like she may be bipolar, and obviously has major depression, but the way she called

For some people it’s just hard wired that this is how they act out and mental illness makes those mental pathways deeper and more ingrained.

I think my mom’s toxic assholery comes from mental illness too, though. It’s part depression, part borderline personality with a dash of of narcissistic personality disorder.

Especially since BLM protestors were shot by white supremacists in Minneapolis like, not even a week ago! God this woman suckkkkkkkks.

To my knowledge BLM has never shot up anywhere or killed anyone. When I was interviewing for a job for an organization that works with abortion we had to meet at an undisclosed location for safety reasons. I had to sign that I wouldn’t tell anyone where we met. Anti-choice fuck nuts have killed and bombed us. They

To add to your comment, the flawed definition of rape also completely negates the importance of teaching consent. If rape is only about power, then teaching consent is meaningless.

While I agree that rape and sex are fundamentally different, the whole “rape is always about power and control, and never about sexual desire” thing that has been accepted as a truism really goes too far.

This kind of thinking perpetuates the myth that rape is an act formed from sexual desire, when it actually stems from power and control.

Oh, so he just hates women. Gotcha.

Fun fact - This is what he looks like:

WOWWWWWWW.

If anyone’s curious why Mr. Wells starts off his statement with “Every time this happens,” well, let’s just say he has a long and sordid history of this kind of behavior. Specifically, he was the guy that made so much noise over Jennifer Lawrence being “too big” for The Hunger Games, and said that readers should
