When I asked to send the dishes back and tried to point out that it wasn’t the chef’s place to make alterations to the ingredients that were clearly listed on the menu

Yeah that all sounds right to me. From personal experience, I can’t say I’ve always been able to tell that the food I’m serving has all the requested subs but if I do see something wrong I’ll tell the chef, and if the customer lets me know it’s wrong, I’d take it back with apologies. And of course you always rush a

Oh JAYZUS this is so much worse than I assumed. Jeez louise I gave this guy way too much credit. How can he possibly be a fan of this column what a fucking toolbox, ugh!

hey post it! does it say what the server actually said?

You know from reading this column that food service workers put up with a LOT, from bosses, co-workers and especially customers. Probably the worst part of it all though, is how dehumanizing it is. As a server, you’re a regular person with a unique personality, people who love you and hopes and dreams and feelings.

Right, I feel like, really you read this article regularly and you haven’t picked up on what servers put up with and how much you fit the description of the typical customer who expects servers to bow and scrape for your pennies? Like, an instance of having to wait 20 minutes for the check and the waiter ignoring you

I don’t understand your first response. You are being vague about how the server was rude, I guess you don’t remember? Anyway whatever.

If a waiter told me to stfu, I’d tell him to fuck himself and I’d leave mid-meal without paying. So, no I wouldn’t have defended that. You remain vague as to what really went down. Listen you posted a story ostensibly about a terrible server and really it just reads as like a whatever story about a server having a bad

Yeah sure there’s definitely worse customers. You realize there is actually an element of “being told what’s good for you” inherent to the restaurant experience? And that chefs don’t get part of your tip, or suffer from a lack of it? But you say it doesn’t matter anyway so whatever.

Yes, yes I know. But still, score.

I genuinely do not understand the last half of your last paragraph. If you’d ever worked in a restaurant, you’d realize that your story reads like a parody of what a terrible customer would say.

So you’re saying she was the best bartender ever, right?

what movie is that? I’m sure it said but I missed it.

Did you guys actually pay?

It’s not the servers fault that the chef put that sauce on there. And I’m guessing when you say you tried to hide your irritation that you definitely failed, which is probably when the server stopped working for a tip he knew would never materialize. Have you ever worked in a restaurant?

The people who threw you out of that gay bar were assholes. The woman in this story is an asshole. It stands to reason that an event like that would not upset you nearly as much as it would upset a gay couple, they are after all, persecuted in many areas of life and you are NOT. It’s thanks to people like them

The rationale was “I’m fucking crazy.”

Yeah no, a lifelong yeast infection would not be my first choice either. That sounds like a fucking nightmare. However it is worth pointing out that you say sex was painful? Well, sex is completely out of the question with a uti. Like I can’t even stand for my bf to put his hand on my waist. They are so fucking

Oh weird, I wonder how that affected your urinary tract? I’ve had 2 kids and therefore many ultrasounds and no cysts, but thanks for the advice.

Thanks. I actually do this along with a lot of other things and I still get them. Some women just have a urinary anatomy that makes them more prone to them. Lucky me.
