Wow good idea. Fuck it’s so simple.

I had the same thought before I read the story. So much better to be intervening now (and in my opinion getting him treatment and addressing whether he should live with someone besides his father, rather than punishing him) is so much better than letting it slide. I mean if he went and did something, everyone would be…
I know someone who works his ass off for $10/hr doing hard labor, paid under the table. He’s been doing it since he was a teenager (about 15 years) - it has no raises or upward mobility in it and he’s treated like shit. But he goes every day and works his ass off and never complains. He refuses to work minimum wage…
Ha yeah there is actually a food truck that does a falafel sandwich for $3. I had food poisoning 3 times before I finally gave it up.
Work is work. Talent and dedication (ie putting in the time and effort to train in higher education) should be rewarded. But if you leave your home and put in the bulk of your waking hours doing work for someone else, like McDonald’s, you should be compensated enough to pay rent and bills and maybe even treat yourself…
I’ve done both, and more, and gone back and forth, and no, once you’ve worked an office job, you can’t be a cashier or waitress happily for the rest of your working life. The lack of respect and upward mobility, plus the physical toll, are things that are very, very hard to endure once you’ve been to the other side.
Exactly, it’s irrelevant. My first job I made. $2.15/hr plus 50 cents a table. the next one I made $4, and then got a raise to $4.25. After that I was in the $7+ range for many years until I got into the $15-20 and I’m currently in the $20-30. I’m still having trouble paying my bills and I will now and always believe…
Yeah it’s such a LIE and just exposes the fact that they’ve been coasting on good luck without having the good sense to realize it.
Watch them in Wuthering Heights right this second.
In my true, honest opinion, simply giving up an hour of your time is worth more than $10. If you sit in a chair and stare at a wall, at someone else’s behest, for an hour, you deserve more than $10. If someone said, “hey could you ride the subway for an hour, meet me here, and wait in line for me for an hour, and then…
Yeah isn’t technology supposed to set us free? Where is this resource based robot workforce future I keep dreaming about?
Yeah and once it’s possible it will be done even if the minimum wage stays exactly the same from now until eternity.
It helps everyone.
That’s a crabs in a barrel mentality which by definition helps nobody and hurts everybody.
Here’s an idea. Raise the manager’s pay. hmmm
I have 2 kids, ages 2 and 8 months. I’m going to get them involved in charity work as soon as the new one can walk. Kudos to your dad.
I’m totally with you. My son is 2 and it’s everything I can do to not start bawling at work. Somebody put those shoes on him that morning and probably kissed him on the head the way I do my baby. For Christ sake. I’ve always been crazy liberal and as long as this conflict has been going have been pro let the Syrians…
Dude if you leave a real looking baby in a hot car and people try to rescue it that is 100% on you. 100%.
Well then shame on this one for leaving it in a hot car.
I think the argument still stands
Because we don’t get a new “God” every few years, and God (and his unchanging word - the Bible) is omnipotent and therefore never wrong/always right. So the Church in saying that the Pope is God’s rep on earth, cannot say that each pope gets to disavow himself of the actions of former popes and make a new playbook for…
