Yes. And i’m a superannuated child because I ride a bike to work. (Some people apparently think this).

“I have access to a car, but it would be poor judgement to drive that car when I could use public transportation!” Is essentially what you just said.

Oh, how I wish that that attitude was (or were still) limited to men...

This is all precisely what I was going to say. I tried to add anything but you covered it all. Bravo.

When I was job hunting a bit less than a decade ago, the “common wisdom” among my fellow interviewee ladies was also that you shouldn’t wear an engagement (or wedding) ring—but back then the reasoning was not that potential employers would assume you were high maintenance. Rather, the rumored thinking was that an

Come on! It’s been 10 years. We’ve obviously improved as people, and as a Nation, immensely since then. I mean who wants to go back to 2006 with all the wars, skyrocketing house prices, and the Republicans holding both the House and Senate. Thank goodness those days are past us!

He’s guilty because the Fox news lady who never supported any woman who claimed the same thing as she is now claiming says he is guilty so we should all believe her even though she used her national platform to loudly never believe any other woman. Fuck. Her.

OT: I’m a refugee from Gawker, I tried Jezebel, but the Slot is the only GM property that has made it to my favorites bar. I hope you guys thrive—except for Wonkette, you’re all I have left.

hey - Birdman was amazing.

You should dig into the theories about the movie. It is a puzzle, but once you get the correct piece, everything falls into place and the movie actually makes perfect sense. I love it so much.

I like that Ratatouille is on there. I always feel like it’s Pixar’s forgotten movie, but I love it!

You were depressed by the fact that only 31% of all critics on that list were women, up from 27% female critics overall and that only 12% of all movies on that list had women as directors, up from 9% overall in the industry? First of all, you seem to be easily depressed. Have you seen a shrink lately? Second of all,

I have a lot of verah verah serious film fanatic friends and they would not hesitate to name Mulholland Drive to the top 10, if not #1.

I’ll say that I saw it shortly after it came out and its stuck with me ever since. Some of the visuals are just breathtaking and I’m still puzzling out what the heck it meant. I was happy to see it at number 1 and surprised but not disappointed. But given that so many of the critics are men I’m sure the lesbianism

Because LOTR sucks dong.

Yes.

But Mulholland Drive is so much better than In the Mood for Love, which I’ve never seen.
