Lovelace was a badass visionary and she knew it. She also seems to have engaged in some self-mockery, so I'm not sure how seriously all her statements about herself were meant to be taken. She was right, though:

If the people directing these threats were brown and/or directed at men instead of women.. I can't help but imagine the swift retribution that would follow from Three Letter Government Agencies. This would be decried as terrorism instead of just "pissed off teenagers on the internet". There would be laws proposed…

And the people law-abiding enough to hold a concealed carry should be adult enough to understand "given this threat, we cannot allow weapons into this event".
