Well, "hate" is a strong word. Many people liked La La Land, but didn't love it. Many people who saw HIDDEN FIGURES loved it! My husband and I are among them.
HIDDEN FIGURES is the better film.

HIDDEN FIGURES is the better film.
HIDDEN FIGURES is the true Best Picture this year. I hope the Academy does the right thing and is not tempted to just pat itself on the back again. ARGO's ascendance was somewhat understandable because it was based on an exciting true story. The Great film HIDDEN FIGURES is based on a true story, too. And the book…
Willo, I heartily concur. HIDDEN FIGURES is a GREAT film!
You'll love HIDDEN FIGURES!
I heartily concur. HIDDEN FIGURES respects the audience. Taraji's calculations were Real. My husband and I are geeks and that GREAT film warmed our hearts. :-) We wish Henson had been nominated for an Oscar, too.
You have a point. Crazy, racist Trump pretended he "couldn't believe" that brilliant President Obama did well in school when in truth, Barack H. Obama graduated with the highest GPA in his ENTIRE HARVARD Law School Class!
?! Actually, HIDDEN FIGURES is a GREAT film. It Should get the Oscar. Taraji P. Henson should have been nominated, too.
?! Actually, it wasn't "aggressively pitched" compared to other films. Taraji P. Henson who should have gotten an Oscar nod for her performance in the GREAT film, HIDDEN FIGURES, works 17 hr days on the tv show, EMPIRE, in which she stars. Kinda hard to do as much promoting as other stars who ONLY have movie gigs.…
My husband and I saw the GREAT film, HIDDEN FIGURES THREE times! Everyone should see it in theaters, since it's about the space race, and the big screen better lends itself to the scope of that amazing endeavor. We can see why it was deservedly nominated for Best Picture! But we scratched our heads over Taraji P.…
Actually, When my husband and I went to see HIDDEN FIGURES, the audience was full of Young people, Middle Aged people, AND Senior citizens about equally. There were all races, too And the audience clapped when it was over! We've seen the GREAT HIDDEN FIGURES 3 times!
Willo, My husband and I had the same experience of viewing HIDDEN FIGURES with a diverse crowd from every perspective, young,middle-aged, old, black, white, Hispanic, Asian. And at the end, the entire audience CLAPPED!
HIDDEN FIGURES is GREAT. And it's the kind of film you should see first in the theater. It's about the space race, after all, and the big screen better lends itself to the scope of that amazing endeavor.
And what of Taraji P. Henson's brilliance? And Janelle Monae, an Honors Math student, actually performed the math on the film on her own — for fun! :-)
Scrappybilly, HIDDEN FIGURES is magnificent. My husband and I saw it THREE times. When it was nominated for Best Picture we were not surprised and we did whoop a little with joy. We wish Taraji P. Henson had been nominated for a BEST ACTRESS Oscar, too, though. She is amazing. Are the people actually making the…
Um, You DO know he's not really "tan," don't you? Trump just smears orange goop on himself and calls it a day. And in 2017 —- 2017(!) Mind you, he insanely stuffed his cabinet with 90% WHITE MEN, most of whom are woefully UNQUALIFIED, downright dangerous, or otherwise unfit. Rick Perry? Really? Shaking my head.
