I'm going to have to guess zero. Zero chance. I assume you have considered, and ruled out, riding the motorcycle back?

One of my college professors had a personal First Law of Water, which stated that water always flows downhill, unless it is flowing towards money.

These authors are not proposing that this drying out of the western U.S. is due to global warming. Tree rings and other data have shown a long term trend (on the order of a thousand years) in which rain and snowfall was higher than average, but they had no idea this was the case.

I appreciate your concern. However, if smoke from your fireplace ends up inside your house, you have bigger problems. Get that chimney cleaned! Or just open the flue.

No, not a different state of matter. All minerals, such as magnetite, are partly defined by having a repeating, ordered molecular lattice structure. This is what gives rise to crystal shapes. There are a lot of different types of crystal forms, but they are all solids by definition. Changing forms does not constitute

Ok, as a Grand Junction native I have to represent. I have lived in many states across the USA and many different types of places in those states, and I can definitely say that GJ is a very awesome place to live. If you think otherwise, those of us who truly know that valley invite you to actually find out how awesome

You're thinking about Green River, Utah, about 100 miles west of GJ on I-70. Try again.

You can see the disappointment when the baby gorilla realizes this human is not infested with ticks! No ticks for you!

Some movies are timeless. I was just talking with my wife this week about our favorite scenes from this movie.

I love these. Very imaginative, funny and well executed.

There is an "English" link at the bottom right. Not sure if it works, because that website is s-l-o-w right now. I think it got lifehack'd.

Freedomweasel, I know you weren't asking me, but some cars have cheap parts available. I got 2 rotors and 2 sets of pads for around $70. They threw in anti-squeal grease for free. '99 Dodge Stratus, in the US of A.

I don't think it's the speed of the asteroid that matters here. If the spacecraft and asteroid match velocities the relative speed is 0. One issue is these asteroids have very low gravity. There is not enough down force to allow drilling; the drilling craft would just rise up off the surface as it tried to push the

what, pee in your mouth? Because it looks like this maneuver has a very low margin of error before things get real bad.

I typically get 6 hours. It's not enough to feel well rested, but it's enough to function, and enjoy my day. Way back in high school I decided it's worth being tired all day if I get a few hours to myself every evening after everyone else in my house has gone to sleep. I can go 5 hours a day for up to a week

The bandana idea is pretty cool. I could see that making for a great adventure keepsake. The only downside is that it would be hard to mark up. I have a great hiking GPS but I occasionally like to navigate using my compass and a pencil, just to keep the skill sharp. I'm not sure how well that would work using a cloth

Seriously, map inside a ziploc seems easier than this. Just fold the map so you can see what you need without taking it out of the bag. Also fold it so anything else you might need you can see by turning it over.

Yep. It is tied to SBSettings. By default you can control Airplane Mode, 3G, Bluetooth, Location, Wi-fi, volume and brightness, silence ringer, etc. If you install add-ons for SBSettings you can usually toggle those in SBSchedule as well. You should check it out.

Consider my life hacked. Thanks!

I get kind of sick of "sleep less" tricks. Good luck trying to outsmart your biologically defined sleep needs.
