The guys in Backstreet Boys went on hiatus for 2 years but by 2004 they've gotten back together and touring and making albums to date. They had an album in 2005, 2007, 2009, and a new one next month.
Are you talking about the US, or worldwide? Worldwide Backstreet Boys were definitely the biggest out of 3. Spice Girls were slightly below them and NSYNC were practically unknown. Westlife had the third spot.
