@buenosdias: I think that the beauty bar should be set mighty high for anyone getting paid for it and/or being labeled "Beautiful." I find that today the word is tossed around loosely. Pretty is the new beautiful.

@CatLat7: I don't think Joan was including herself in that catagory, but noting that more actresses on screen (when she was young) happened to be gorgeous than those on screen today.

This may sound cruel, but I agree with Joan Collins & raise her: I think classic feminine beauty in Hollywood is in such short supply that someone like Angelina Jolie is considered "gorgeous." Exotic? Androgynous? Hell yeah, but Jolie is not in the same league as Ava Gardner or Elizabeth Taylor.
