This story was run a couple days ago with the judge citing “research” that suggested kids being raised by same sex couples turned out poorly for his reason why the child should be removed from their custody. The studyusually cited is a flawed one that showed that children were better off being raised by a hetero couple than a single parent household. Studies that have compared two parent hetero and same sex couple found that kids from same sex parent households actually did slightly better than their peers.

“In the original court documents, Johansen cited “belief that research has shown that children are more emotionally and mentally stable when raised by a mother and father in the same home.””

Did the judge cite any sources of the “research” that children are better off with heterosexual parents? Because I thought the empirical evidence has shown that there is no difference in the development of children raised by homosexual couples.
