You have to watch the first season to build your interest in the characters before you deal with the depression season.

It is very funny in a dark humor kind of way. Plus if you are a functional dysfunctional person you’ll totally relate and laugh harder. My husband and I enjoy the show. This season is great because it does a solid job showing how real love stays around for the tough times too.
