The 3800 was far more reliable than the 3.1. I’ve had both, and had a lot of trouble with the 3.1. It eventually died when the head cracked. That was after 75K miles of mostly my grandma driving it. My 3800 made it to 250K and would have kept going if it hadn’t been totalled after it was stolen.

According to the article it’s a 3670 lbs vehicle with the RWD + base diesel drivetrain. Still though, slow is relative. It’s certainly the slowest of the four F-Pace engine options. Something in the 8 seconds 0-62 mph range. Which is more than adequate for most, but not fast.

Depends on what you’re expecting. Do you expect to win drag races against people who are in on your racing pretensions? You’ll lose. Do you expect it to effortlessly keep up with traffic? It’ll succeed. Do keep in mind that this 180 diesel has (almost) as much torque as the 340+ hp gasoline versions.

^^^This is how Roselli actually talks.

XC70 was designed with a very strong rear end to protect the rear-facing third-row occupants (no longer a factory option, but was when the car was designed).

FYI. This is the best group of comments ever on one of my columns.

I wish there was a way for us to thank this man. Applause to you sir!

“Good on you, Mercedes. Parts should trickle down, not up.”

Not a new thing to be honest. The indicator and wiper controls in a 550 Maranello are from a Fiat.

Been there, done that. Oil bath air cleaner no less. On the positive side, the sheen of 10w40 means ALL my kitchenware is non-stick now.

Dude, what do you have against home appliances?

Probably the rescue party.

I’m calling a conspiracy theory:

Good job by all concerned.
